Finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Loved it.
Just one note: They should stop making the movies - they cannot possibly do justice to this one. Or maybe they should just let me direct it.

How would you do it then?

glad you say that - i wouldn't have liked to be disappointed again.

I would so do justice to that movie! I know I'd be magnificent.
I'd do it the dark and dreary way - the way it should be done.

Not if I direct the damn thing first, even if it is with action figures!

they should definitely stop making the movies...the 3rd one sucked. but as for liking the 6th book, I beg to disagree... for details as to why check out the second part of the post titled "Best Laid Plans" on my blog and tell me whether you agree or not.

I read somewhere : never judge a book by its movie. how true:) I like books better than the movies they turn into, as a rule...
as for your BED, reminded me of the felix whatever potion... the good luck confidence thingy!

@Charu: This rule is almost an iron-clad one (with innumerable examples), but there have been exceptions. The Forrest Gump book was appalling, but the movie was fine (not a classic, I hasten to add). The Godfather was pure pulp, but the movie took it rather far, although it stuck to the story. And while I'm not saying the the LotR movies were better than the book (of course not), I must say I haven't completed the book (and I've tried it thrice), but I loved the movies, and have watched each one more than once. But otherwise, we see that the exception proves the rule.

Aditya, I agree there are always exceptions - but as a rule I prefer the book - leaves much more to my imagination. as with Harry Potter, now when I read the book I only see the movie charcters in front of my eyes. dont enjoy that feling...

Yes, you're right. For example, the Lupin I had imagined was, for one thing, much less well-fed than David Thewlis. And while I like Thewlis (have liked him ever since I saw Life is Sweet), I think my Lupin was much better.
This goes for many other books.
